Today, October 21, Luke is 15 months old. Yep, it's hard to believe how fast the months just seem to "click" by.
Just for fun....Here's a photo of Luke one year ago today (3 months old) -- in the chair, of course.
When I was looking through last year's photos, I came up on this one -- also taken one year ago today. It was about this time last year when Luke really started "depending" on his thumb for comfort. Wow! Has that not changed much -- except now, the blanket must be with Luke for the thumb to even "work." (Luke doesn't suck his thumb without the blanket in tow).
And, here is a photo of Luke today -- in the chair. I wasn't able to get many smiles in the chair today. Oh well -- we still like the photo.
And, just for fun...here are some photos of Luke from this month.
First, the one where he's looking a bit ornery in the high chair...
Marc frequently wears a ballcap or visor. Luke LOVES to play with them. It usually is a good instant "mood" changer -- if needed. Here's Luke playing with one of Marc's visors.
Luke has been "banging" on the piano for a little while now -- while standing at the piano. I have recently been putting him on the piano bench nearly everyday for him to play. Perhaps he'll take lessons someday (I know Marc would prefer other hobbies, but I say -- there's nothing wrong with the piano).
And, lastly, for those of you who've been following our lives -- you know that Luke isn't quite walking on his own yet. Yes, I realize that younger babies we know are already walking. Yes, I've been told by several of you that "so and so" will beat him walking and they're much younger. Truth be told, I might scream when the next person tells me that I should be glad he's not walking yet because then I'll just have to chase him more....Yep, we've heard it all.
Truth be told, the big reason I'm ready for him to walk is that I'm tired of carrying him EVERYWHERE. Look further down in this post for Luke's stats (specifically, weight), and you'll understand why I make this statement.
BUT, Luke is learning at his own pace. Honestly, he could probably walk if he'd just do it. But, as I've stated in a previous post, Luke's taking after me -- I was a late walker by not walking until 15 months.
SOOOOO, I have a feeling that this might just be the month for Luke to take his first steps. Believe me, I'll keep you posted.
(Also, thanks for you awesome support on this topic, Candice. I know it's near and dear to your heart as well).
Anyways, I'm babbling.
Here's a photo of Luke standing. Yes, he does do that.
Yesterday, Luke had his 15-month well-baby check.
Here are some important stats. I think you'll find that Luke is indeed a big boy (henceforth the reason why I'd like him to walk).
Height: 31 1/2 inches -- 66th percentile
Weight: 27 lb. 8 oz. -- 85th percentile (walking will lower this, I'm sure)
Head Circumference: 19 1/2 inches -- 97th percentile (Hmmmm...That's a big head -- Is that why Luke had to be delivered via a C-Section? Who knows????)
Thanks for reading!!!!!
We absolutely LOVE our little guy. In fact, just tonight, we were talking about how we love him unconditionally just like our Heavenly Father loves us unconditionally. I think that's a little easier to understand once you become a parent. I've heard some other of you folks say that as well.
Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!
The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25
Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9
From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28
May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33
God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

People used to always tell me, Once he starts walking you'll want him to stop." Um, no, not at all. See, my perspective is different. So, when he is running around getting into everything I am very pleased, despite my inability to get things done! I hear you about the weight too. Joels always like, "Why are you so tired??" I'm like, "You carry him around!!" LOL
Thanks for the shout out. Glad I could be of some support. Mommies need each other, I think. :)
Oh, and yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Luke!!
Hey I didn't walk until I was a solid 16 months! And once I started I did not fall once. I turned out OK, right? I bet that is what he is going to do.
