Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!

The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28

May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33

God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

We lead a Community Life Group of other wonderful couples. Marc thoroughly enjoys long-distance running and Taekwondo. Sarah thoroughly enjoys walking -- especially when the weather is nice to take Luke and/or out in the stroller. Thanks for reading our blog!

The ABCs of Me....

So, I saw this on my Blogger Friend, Candice's, post. It's a creative way of telling the world a little more about yourself.

Here goes....

A - Age: 33

B - Bed size: KING -- And we love it. We converted from a Queen to a King a little over two years. We will NEVER go back.

C - Chore you hate: Mopping the kitchen and bathrooms AND vacuuming (anything with floors)

D - Dog's name: Used to be "Clyde" -- This past summer, we actually gave her away for several reasons. She now is with another family.

E - Essential start your day item: Going to the Bathroom

F - Favorite color: Blue

G - Gold or Silver: Silver

H - Height: 5'2"

I - Instruments you play: Piano, Clarinet, Bassoon (though I don't personally own a bassoon -- I did play in high school and in college)

J - Job title: Wife, Mom, Homemaker, Babysitter, Payroll/Safety Administrator

K - Kid(s): Luke

L - Living arrangements: In our wonderful home in our wonderful neighborhood in Newton, KS -- Living with husband Marc and son Luke

M - Mom's name: Mary

N - Nicknames: Don't really have any

O - Overnight hospital: Two Times -- Surgery two years ago; gave birth 15 months ago

P - Pet Peeve(s): When people neglect the concept of personal responsibility and blame all of their problems on somebody else and THEN want somebody else to fix them

Q - Quote from a movie: "Ferris Bueller, You're My Hero" -- Cameron in Ferris Bueller's Day Off

R - Right or left handed: Left

S - Siblings: One Brother, Joel, who is two years younger than me

T - Time you wake up: I wake up early when Marc's alarm goes off (6 ish). I get up between 7:30 and 8:00 -- depending on Luke.

U - Underwear: Yes, I wear them -- not the skimpy type and not the Grandma type

V - Vegetable you dislike: Are olives vegetables? I really dislike them.

W - Workout style: Hour long walks with the jogging stroller

X - X-rays you've had: Chest x-ray (had weird left side pain my freshmen year in college -- turned out to be a pulled muscle), dental x-rays, x-ray of my reproductive system during infertility testing

Y - Yesterday's best moments: Watching Luke snack on Fruit Loops while we were trimming his hair in the kitchen (too cold outside)

Z - Zoo favorite: Giraffes

And, just because I can't do a blog post without a photo -- here's one that pertains to my "W" (workout). Most of you know that I do walk quite a bit with Luke in the jogging stroller. Well, it was rather chilly outside today with the wind. But, I still wanted a walk -- though we did cut it considerably shorter than normal. I bundled Luke up to the point where he could barely move, and we went out. He maintained a pretty good attitude, and I did get a brief walk.

It was the first time he's really worn mittens. He wasn't quite sure what to do with them.

I guess we have the same workout routine. Luke looks really excited about that walk. ;P
