Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!

The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28

May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33

God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

About the Friesen's....

We are Marc, Sarah, Luke, and Kate Friesen. We were married June 5, 2004. We have one son, born July 21, 2008, named Luke Andrew -- now 4 years old. We also have a daughter named Kate Christine -- born June 6, 2012. Marc is working at Cessna as a Senior Accountant, and Sarah stays home full-time with Luke. Sarah also gets to work very part-time at home for Graber Backhoe -- an excavation company AND VERY part-time at our church. We LOVE being a part of Grace Community Church here in Newton, KS. We lead a Community Life Group of other wonderful couples. Marc thoroughly enjoys long-distance running and Taekwondo. Sarah thoroughly enjoys walking -- especially when the weather is nice to take Luke and/or out in the stroller. Thanks for reading our blog!

Getting Better????? Maybe....

Is Luke getting better? (Check out my previous post if you have no idea what I'm talking about). We think so; however, he's not out of the woods yet.

This morning (Monday), Luke woke up with a 101 temperature. But, he had slept through the night. So, that 101 degree temperature was after 12 hours with NO Tylenol.

After giving him some Tylenol at that point, I was VERY excited for a normal temperature about an hour later.

At that point, I said, "Luke, we're going for a mini outing. I might go nuts if we don't."

So, I loaded up Luke in the TB (Trail Blazer)....I think Luke also was excited to get out. Here are some photos of him merely backing out of the driveway. I don't think he's been in the TB since last Thursday.

We ended up here....just for me.

Since I'm not sure if Luke's "contagiousness" is gone yet, I opted for the Sonic drive-in. I know summer's gone, but a Cranberry Limeade still tasted good even on this crisp fall Kansas day.

Since that definitely didn't take long enough for an outing, we took a "leaf tour" throughout our town.

We're far enough south that the leaves are really pretty right now. They're just starting to fall off, and so, there are quite a few to look at.

I'm sorry to say, though, that I didn't take any photos (kind of sad, I know).

After getting back home, Luke's temperature remained normal.

Also, his appetite had come back. So, mealtime wasn't too bad anymore.

Luke did take a very long nap after lunch (which tells me he's still fighting something). However, after his nap, since we hadn't taken a walk in quite a while, I did take him out in the stroller BRIEFLY. We didn't go our normal distance. We just did a nice easy walk.

It felt sooooo good for both of us.

I was gone this evening for a bit, and so, Luke was home with Marc.

Marc reported to me that Luke was very content playing this evening. HOWEVER, when Marc was getting him ready for bed, Luke felt warm. Marc took his temperature. He once again had a fever. This time, however, it was only 100.1.

In answer to the blogpost question -- Luke is getting better very slowly. This "Junk" just drags on, though, and everybody seems to be telling me that.

Tomorrow (Tuesday), I'll once again plan on "taking it easy" with Luke. And we will once again stay out of public places.

Sarah, I'm so glad he is doing better. I think my 2 and myself are coming down with SOMETHING. We had lots of coughing and runny noses today. I'm hoping that's all we get.

So glad he is getting better. I can understand the Sonic run. But If I stop I have to share the ice with Naomi (which is not easy in the van). Keep getting better Luke!

When you compare these photos with the ones from the weekend, he looks back to normal! In one of the earlier ones I thought to myself, "Luke looks like he has a headache." Poor little guy. Thank God for the resilience of the young.
Hang in there, Sarah. This too shall pass.
