Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!

The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28

May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33

God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

About the Friesen's....

We are Marc, Sarah, Luke, and Kate Friesen. We were married June 5, 2004. We have one son, born July 21, 2008, named Luke Andrew -- now 4 years old. We also have a daughter named Kate Christine -- born June 6, 2012. Marc is working at Cessna as a Senior Accountant, and Sarah stays home full-time with Luke. Sarah also gets to work very part-time at home for Graber Backhoe -- an excavation company AND VERY part-time at our church. We LOVE being a part of Grace Community Church here in Newton, KS. We lead a Community Life Group of other wonderful couples. Marc thoroughly enjoys long-distance running and Taekwondo. Sarah thoroughly enjoys walking -- especially when the weather is nice to take Luke and/or out in the stroller. Thanks for reading our blog!

Halloween....

Well, it's better late than never, but here are just a couple of Halloween pics from this year.

But first, let me explain.

For those of you who know Marc well, you know that he is a HUGE Texas Longhorns fan. Nope, we're not from Texas, and nope, neither one of us went to college there. But, he likes the Longhorns. I'll let you ask him why :)

Needless to say, Luke has already been put in some TX Longhorns paraphernalia.

Awhile back (I think in June), I was at this consignment sale in Wichita. I found a TX Longhorns football jersey and pants. It was BRAND NEW -- in fact, the tags were still on them.

So, I purchased the outfit for $14 -- way cheaper than if we'd bought them new from the university or a sports shop.

When we were trying to figure out what Luke should be for Halloween (without spending a lot of money or requiring sewing on my part -- I DO NOT sew), Marc suggested, of course, a Texas Longhorns football player. After all, we had the outfit. And, it's not like we were going to do any major Trick-or-Treating -- since Luke has decided to postpone his walking abilities even more :)

So, here is our little guy....VERY CUTE I might say.

Marc actually had to work Halloween morning (one of the few Saturdays he works throughout the year). After work, he went and did a little clothes shopping for himself. He came home with a Texas Longhorns T-Shirt -- which he claims he bought because he needed to get to a certain expenditure amount to qualify for a discount he had.

So, I snapped this photo of the two of them together. Actually, this is my new favorite photo of my guys.

And, just for kicks -- here's a photo of Luke from last year's Halloween. He was only three months old, but he was a big 3-month old. He was a Taekwondo kid.

So, if you wish to leave comments about the TX Longhorns (I'm talking about all of you KU and KSU fans), please leave them for Marc -- not for me.

Okay, so this is for Mark....

Of all the other Big 12 teams he could have picked....Texas is a good choice I will admit. I don't always cheer Big 12 (in face, I'll cheer for ANY team playing the Hawks) but I'll cheer for Texas anytime, unless they are playing the Cats. Sometimes I like to flash Dave the longhorn sign...just to make him mad (since he's such a huge Sooner fan!).

So anyway - cute costumes! Since you're not KState fans, in MY opinion, you've made the 2nd best choice.

He looks adorable. Don't worry about the walking. You should see Graham now. He is all over the place! Walking so fat and confidently. Luke will get there too.

Love the little karate costume. Not so sure about the Longhorn, though.

Glad you liked the cookies. I've been thinking I need to make them again soon.
