Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!

The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28

May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33

God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

About the Friesen's....

We are Marc, Sarah, Luke, and Kate Friesen. We were married June 5, 2004. We have one son, born July 21, 2008, named Luke Andrew -- now 4 years old. We also have a daughter named Kate Christine -- born June 6, 2012. Marc is working at Cessna as a Senior Accountant, and Sarah stays home full-time with Luke. Sarah also gets to work very part-time at home for Graber Backhoe -- an excavation company AND VERY part-time at our church. We LOVE being a part of Grace Community Church here in Newton, KS. We lead a Community Life Group of other wonderful couples. Marc thoroughly enjoys long-distance running and Taekwondo. Sarah thoroughly enjoys walking -- especially when the weather is nice to take Luke and/or out in the stroller. Thanks for reading our blog!

The Announcement That Must Be Official on this Blog....

Here's the announcement that many of you already know -- thanks to Facebook, word of mouth, loud announcements, etc.

I am pregnant!

Yep, this positive pregnancy test goes way back to late Friday evening, October 28, 2011.

Without going into too much personal detail, we were a bit surprised. If somebody would've told us that morning that, by the time we went to bed, we'd know we were expecting another child, that somebody might've received a strange look.

Marc was actually gone that evening....at church, counting money from our church's Judgement House production.

If you like to read complete and utter honesty, here it is: When I saw the positive pregnancy test (when Marc was gone), I seriously laughed. I didn't laugh because I was upset or anything....in fact, quite the opposite was true. I was excited.

I was just surprised and had to laugh at God's timing....you're just going to have to trust me....I'm not going into a lot of details.

When Marc came home (Luke was in bed at this point), I said, "Do you want to hear something kind of funny?" He said, "Sure." (AND, I know he wasn't expecting this at all).

I said, "I'm pregnant."

Marc responded, "Really?" (with excitement)....

And, it's all gone from there.

SOOOOOOOO, Lord willing, Luke will be a big brother at the end of June/first of July. The official due date is July 6....we'll see what happens.

On another pregnancy note....

At nine weeks, I had a sonogram. The sono tech made a couple of weird comments that concerned me (but I know they're not supposed to say everything).

Two days later, I received a phone call from my dr's office stating that the radiologist's report came back on the sono. There was an abnormality with the gestational sac.....Come back for another sono at 11 weeks (two weeks later).

I was a MESS for a couple of weeks. Researching this topic on the internet, as is with other health topics, reveals NOTHING good. I was convinced that pregnancy would possibly miscarry.

Finally, Marc kindly suggested I get off of the internet with that topic. I did. Admittedly, I was better then.

At 11 weeks, we went in for the 2nd sono. The tech didn't say anything. But, my dr's office called first thing the next morning to say that the abnormality had corrected itself!!!!!

YAY GOD!!!!!!

So, we're all good right now.

Everybody always wants to know how I'm feeling....I felt rather crappy from about 6 weeks - 12 weeks. Since then, the nausea is mostly gone (though it creeps up occasionally). I have been very tired, and that has not yet subsided.

The worst part has been that, for the last two weeks, I've had this head cold that I CANNOT get rid of.

When I was at my routine prenatal appt. last week, I had my dr. listen to my lungs....Yep, they sounded clear. And, I haven't had a fever.

SO, there's nothing that I can take to help it. I'll just have to "ride it out."

It'll get better, but it's frustrating.

I know I already told you CONGRATULATIONS! on Facebook, but wanted to come by and read the story on your blog. I'm SO HAPPY for you guys. (Wow, didn't I just start reading your blog when Luke was still a baby?? LOL!)

I will be praying for you to have a comfortable pregnancy from here on out. I was pregnant with my first son at this same time (he was born July 4 back in '79), so I know you're going to get into some summer heat while you wait. Just get a lot of rest and take in those fluids, Sarah. God will keep His eye on you.
