Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!

The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28

May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33

God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

About the Friesen's....

We are Marc, Sarah, Luke, and Kate Friesen. We were married June 5, 2004. We have one son, born July 21, 2008, named Luke Andrew -- now 4 years old. We also have a daughter named Kate Christine -- born June 6, 2012. Marc is working at Cessna as a Senior Accountant, and Sarah stays home full-time with Luke. Sarah also gets to work very part-time at home for Graber Backhoe -- an excavation company AND VERY part-time at our church. We LOVE being a part of Grace Community Church here in Newton, KS. We lead a Community Life Group of other wonderful couples. Marc thoroughly enjoys long-distance running and Taekwondo. Sarah thoroughly enjoys walking -- especially when the weather is nice to take Luke and/or out in the stroller. Thanks for reading our blog!

Our Vacation -- Day 3 (Part 2)....

And now, Day 3 (Part 2)....

After some afternoon naps by all, we headed to the famed Mall of America....

Just one of the many entrances to the mall....

Now, let me start off by saying all four of us adults had been to the Mall of America in the past. None of us are huge shoppers. But, you really can't visit Minneapolis without going there.

Also, there are some fun kid things...Enough said.

We first split up by families for about an hour to look at a few things....Also, each family ate together.

Since Marc is a HUGE fan of the Minnesota Vikings (you can ask him why), we did go to the Vikings store.

Since truly I couldn't have cared less (football does not interest me at all)....I stayed with Luke outside of the stores....This photo was posted before, but here's what Luke spent his time doing during this time. My job was to keep him from hitting anybody with the stroller (and yes, we did have a few close calls).

After that VERY brief shopping (you don't get very far in only an hour at this mall), we all met up at the amusement park section of the mall (yes, this was for the kids).

Caleb (the almost 4 year-old) really wanted to ride the Big Rigs...So, that's what we did. Marc stayed off of this ride to take photos....

So, we have Reynold and Jesse....

One-half of my body is on the far left of this photo....Caleb is in the front of the Big Rig behind me. Tammy is sitting in the top of Caleb's Big Rig.

Because of where I sat Luke down on this ride, Marc was unable to get a photo of him.

We weren't sure what Luke would do with a ride -- he'd never been on one before. But, let's just say he LOVED it. In fact, when we had to get off, this is what we got (and I also have posted this photo in the past as well).

After Luke was a bit calmed down (but still sad that he couldn't go back on the Big Rigs), we headed to the carousel.

Marc took Luke on this ride.

Let's just say that Luke did just fine; however, you won't notice a smile in any of these photos. Luke took the serious approch to this ride....Marc told him to "Hold On," and that's just what he did. I don't think he ever let go.

Caleb, on the other hand, LOVED the carousel, and he definitely showed his enthusiasm. Caleb's in the green shirt in these photos.

Jesse didn't ride on the carousel, and he couldn't have cared less. He was very excited about the little bus nearby.

After the carousel ride, however, Luke and Caleb also discovered this bus, and it was a HUGE hit with them as well.

And yes, in case you're wondering, there were tears involved when the boys were trying to figure out who would sit in the driver's seat :)

After that, everybody (adults included) was exhausted. It was time to head back to the hotel for night.

Stay tuned for the rest of the vacation!
