Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!

The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28

May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33

God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

About the Friesen's....

We are Marc, Sarah, Luke, and Kate Friesen. We were married June 5, 2004. We have one son, born July 21, 2008, named Luke Andrew -- now 4 years old. We also have a daughter named Kate Christine -- born June 6, 2012. Marc is working at Cessna as a Senior Accountant, and Sarah stays home full-time with Luke. Sarah also gets to work very part-time at home for Graber Backhoe -- an excavation company AND VERY part-time at our church. We LOVE being a part of Grace Community Church here in Newton, KS. We lead a Community Life Group of other wonderful couples. Marc thoroughly enjoys long-distance running and Taekwondo. Sarah thoroughly enjoys walking -- especially when the weather is nice to take Luke and/or out in the stroller. Thanks for reading our blog!

A Prayer Request....

This is a prayer request that's been out for a couple of weeks. I wanted to get this on my blog in hopes that prayers from even more people can be added by Monday, January 31 -- the date of an important doctor's appointment.

Here's the information...

Meet Madelyn Rose (Maddie)....

Maddie is the sweet little baby daughter of Jeremy and Renee....

Maddie was born on November 22, 2010; therefore, Maddie is just a little over 2 months old.

I actually have never met Maddie or her parents, Jeremy and Renee....They live out in sunny southern California.

But, I do have the privilege of knowing Maddie's paternal grandparents, Rich and Carolyn.

I serve on the Community Life Council at our church with Rich. I've gotten to know Carolyn through our Mom 2 Mom program at our church. These are two people I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know.

Anyways, Maddie was recently been diagnosed with Congenital Ptosis.

Basically, Maddie has only been able to open her eyes through little slits. For some reason, the muscles in her eyelids are very underdeveloped. Because she can only open her eyelids a bit, she is not able to get enough light into her eyes for proper development. If something is not corrected VERY SOON, Maddie risks being blinded for life.

Last I knew, Jeremy and Renee have an appointment with any specialist for Maddie on Monday, January 31 -- henceforth, the importance of this e-mail requesting prayer.

This is directly from an e-mail from Carolyn....

Apart from this, Maddie is a very healthy, sweet, mild little baby. She
cries only when hungry, and does love to eat! Hey, she's a Dewey! From birth
she's been so pretty with gorgeous porcelain-doll-like skin and such a
pretty little mouth. Her eyes (which are fine, thankfully!) are a navy blue,
we'd just like to be able to see them and have them see us!

So requests would be:
* a prompt appointment and surgery date at UCLA
* wisdom, discernment, peace for Jeremy and Renee as they seek the best for
Maddie
* Maddie's eyes would get enough light for their development
* may God, and only God, be glorified through all of this

Please pray, and please continue to check Carolyn's blog as I'm sure she'll update on Maddie's progress.

Thanks so much!

THANK YOU Sarah!!! Our family has been blown away by the ever-spreading "web of prayer" on Maddie's behalf. It's literally gone around the world. The Body of Christ is AWESOME!

Maddie's appointment will be Monday, Jan 31 at 3:30. We're especially for wisdom for the doctor to know just what she needs.

Thanks to all for praying!

I have added Maddie to my daily prayer list, and I'll be sure to prayer for those specific things. ♥

Isn't it great to be able to call prayer warriors together via the internet! Amen!
