Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!

The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28

May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33

God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

About the Friesen's....

We are Marc, Sarah, Luke, and Kate Friesen. We were married June 5, 2004. We have one son, born July 21, 2008, named Luke Andrew -- now 4 years old. We also have a daughter named Kate Christine -- born June 6, 2012. Marc is working at Cessna as a Senior Accountant, and Sarah stays home full-time with Luke. Sarah also gets to work very part-time at home for Graber Backhoe -- an excavation company AND VERY part-time at our church. We LOVE being a part of Grace Community Church here in Newton, KS. We lead a Community Life Group of other wonderful couples. Marc thoroughly enjoys long-distance running and Taekwondo. Sarah thoroughly enjoys walking -- especially when the weather is nice to take Luke and/or out in the stroller. Thanks for reading our blog!

A Little Joy at Work....

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. Psalm 28:7

One thing that Marc and I have really started thanking God for each and every day is our jobs. I think many people often don't think of thanking Him for our jobs. But, besides a source of income to make a living, it is an opportunity to bring glory to God.

I currently am spending 15 hours each week at a Dairy Queen, not only helping customers and making ice cream products but also working with employees on organization, training, and a little marketing. I am very thankful for this opportunity, and though I know that our ultimate goal is for me to stay home full-time with Luke, I want to make the most out of this short time I have at this job.

One joyful thing I get to see on a weekly basis is people smiling because of ice cream. It normally puts most people in a good mood. It's fun to be around them. I have been taking some photos of happy customers for a "bulletin board" at the restaurant called, "The Sweet Life." I'd like to share some of the photos I've collected.

First, an older couple who was more than happy to pose with their treats....

This gentleman came in by himself just the other day with all of these kids. He said that only one of them was his. The others were nieces and nephews. He had his hands full, but all of the kids were so excited to pose for this photo. They were also very well behaved. But, it take awhile to have everybody decide what they want. It was a long ordering process :)

These three kids all had certificates for a free ice cream cone. They received them from a local dentist who hands out DQ certificates for a job well done in the "dental chair."

This last photo is my new favorite photo from work. These two girls, along with their mother, came in just today (Wednesday) to pick out an ice cream cake for their daddy's birthday. They were so excited and did have a hard time agreeing on which cake to get. They had to check out each cake, and they even had me go to the back to see if we had any more to look at. With all of the fancy decorations, they ultimately picked out a cake with balloons on it (they were originally looking at a girly flower cake). Then, they had me write "Happy Birthday Daddy" on the cake.

I bet their Daddy had a very happy birthday this evening!

That's all for now! Have a wonderful day tomorrow (Thursday).

What a great attitude you have about work! Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
And, I think the dentist hands out the certificates so that the patients have to come back ... ;)
