Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!

The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28

May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33

God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

About the Friesen's....

We are Marc, Sarah, Luke, and Kate Friesen. We were married June 5, 2004. We have one son, born July 21, 2008, named Luke Andrew -- now 4 years old. We also have a daughter named Kate Christine -- born June 6, 2012. Marc is working at Cessna as a Senior Accountant, and Sarah stays home full-time with Luke. Sarah also gets to work very part-time at home for Graber Backhoe -- an excavation company AND VERY part-time at our church. We LOVE being a part of Grace Community Church here in Newton, KS. We lead a Community Life Group of other wonderful couples. Marc thoroughly enjoys long-distance running and Taekwondo. Sarah thoroughly enjoys walking -- especially when the weather is nice to take Luke and/or out in the stroller. Thanks for reading our blog!

Nineteen Months....

Today, our sweet little guy turned 19 months....

So, we did the usual photo in the "big chair" in our living room.

I managed to get a couple of good ones -- without any trouble :)

And, just for fun, I took a photo of Marc and Luke together....Luke got real serious for this picture. But, for those of you who've been around Luke, this photo won't surprise you. What would it be like to have a photo of Luke WITHOUT sucking his thumb with the blanket?

Man -- do I ever LOVE the two guys I live with!!!!!!

This past month has been interesting....

**Luke got his first ear infection. We feel VERY fortunate that it took 18 months to get his first one. But, it's been kind of a nasty one to get rid of....He's been on an antibiotic basically the whole month. He has a dr's appt. this Wednesday to see if it's cleared up. Fortunately, he hasn't had a fever since late January. He hasn't been cranky about his ears, but we do notice him tugging at them quite frequently. And, he's still been sleeping very well through all of this process.

**Luke is starting to get better and better each day about following very simple commands. He'll go to the bathroom for his bath if we tell him to. He'll go to his bedroom when we say it's time for bed. We do NOT allow him to eat with his blanket (except in extreme circumstances), and so, when we tell him it's time to eat, he'll hand over his blanket to us. He's started to put Marc's dirty socks in the hamper after Marc comes home from work and changes (I know -- GROSS, but Luke doesn't seem to mind at this point)....

**Luke's gotten VERY picky and difficult with his eating. He mostly does O.K. for Marc or me -- because we're around him enough to know what he does. My parents have had him a couple of times over the last month, and he does not eat well for them. I think, though, it's because he'd rather play with them than eat. But hey -- what are grandparents for?

But, we do love this guy more and more each day :)

And, just for fun -- here's a photo of 7-month old Luke -- exactly one year ago today -- in the same chair.

Hey Sara....I just read your post from the other day about the mishap with the breakfast pizza! Glad I haven't tried to make it yet if that's what I have to look forward to! :) I like finding new things to add to our "regulars" that we have consistently. I'll probably still give it try this weekend. My oven looks like right now too. I was making sweet potatoes for Taylor and apparently left them in too long. The "leaked" ALL over the place and it smelled terrible in the oven for a few days. Donnie refused to eat something I made in the oven the next day as he was sure it would taste like burnt sweet potatoes!
