Welcome....Here's a glimpse of our happenings!

The verses that have REALLY spoken to me (Sarah) lately....

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock." Matthew 7:24-25

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. I Peter 5:8-9

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being. As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28

May the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock, and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33

God, our God, will take care of the hidden things but the revealed things are our business. It's up to us and our children to attend to all the terms in this Revelation. Deuteronomy 29:29 (The Message)

About the Friesen's....

We are Marc, Sarah, Luke, and Kate Friesen. We were married June 5, 2004. We have one son, born July 21, 2008, named Luke Andrew -- now 4 years old. We also have a daughter named Kate Christine -- born June 6, 2012. Marc is working at Cessna as a Senior Accountant, and Sarah stays home full-time with Luke. Sarah also gets to work very part-time at home for Graber Backhoe -- an excavation company AND VERY part-time at our church. We LOVE being a part of Grace Community Church here in Newton, KS. We lead a Community Life Group of other wonderful couples. Marc thoroughly enjoys long-distance running and Taekwondo. Sarah thoroughly enjoys walking -- especially when the weather is nice to take Luke and/or out in the stroller. Thanks for reading our blog!

A Debate in My Mind....

I've been debating something in my mind recently, and I'd like a bit of help.

I don't know how many people routinely look at my blog. Is it just a few? Or, is it quite a few?

Is my blog interesting?

I realize I'm not crafty or anything; therefore, don't look for that to start up soon.

I originally started this blog so that friends and family could see Luke (I started it shortly before he was born).

For some reason, though, I feel like God is telling me to do more with it....like making it a bit more purposeful for Him.

I don't know....

Soooooo, with all of this rambling in mind, do any of you have any ideas?

Several people I know have done this in the past, and I think I'll try it (it'll be a way to see how many people read this blog or care what goes on in our lives or in my mind).

Besides ideas for this blog, what questions do you have for me? Ask anything...I'm willing to answer nearly anything at this point (within reason, of course).

Leave comments, please.

And, because I don't want to break the "rule" of a post without a photo (whatever that rule means)...Here's a photo of our Little Guy that I took today....There will be more explanation next week about where this photo was taken.

Lastly, I have an "app" on my iPhone that pulls up a random Bible verse each time you launch the app....Here's what just pulled up.

Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

More than just okay said...

A friend told me how to add to your blog program Google Analytics which tracks number of visits, number of visitors, and country of origin. It's pretty cool. Maybe I could figure out what we did (it's been quite a while) and help you add it. It doesn't appear on your site. You don't find out specifically who, but the numbers are mildly interesting.

I enjoy your posts - whether they're about weighty things or just family doings. Keep on bloggin'

I think you are already pretty intentional about what God is teaching you and what you share encourages me! I love to read and keep in touch with Luke and your family and with your thoughts!

Keep up what you're doing! I enjoy it all!

I know what you mean, sometimes I wonder who is reading my blog, apart from those who comment of course. But I find that in the craziest places people will comment about it, so carry forth!
It's a great way to stay in touch and learn more about each other.

I happen to really love your blog. First, I love it because it's about Newton and I live in Wichita (so it has local appeal). Second, I love it because it IS SIMPLE. It's not complicated and too wordy. You are very straightforward and while I'm sure you can tell from the length of this response that I am not, I do appreciate that in others.
Third, I think the things you post about are interesting. I'm interested in how you are growing in faith, as a Mom and wife. Even though my children are in college and high school, I still like to read about others live.
Fourth, The only thing I would ever change on your blog is your font. It's small. I almost always read your blog in READER because it is a larger font on my screen without the background. Just chalk that up to the fact that I have bad eyesight and am getting old I guess. :)
Lastly, I wouldn't change a thing. I really appreciate that when I read your blog, I feel as if it is just as you would speak if you were sitting and talking. Its not some "too thought out" rhetoric that loses all it's interest.
Love your blog, I'll keep reading no matter what...I wouldn't change a thing. You are precious!

i read your blog (giggle)... obviously, aside from a good recipe (navajo soup), there was something that drew me into wanting to know more about you...and wanting to be "part of your life" by reading your blog...
i don't want you to change... i like what you do... :) if you wanna add a little here or there - like something that hit you as you were reading...or a cool verse...or something like that, do it... if you want to write about what you wanted to eat for lunch (a 3 in. subway hoagie :) hehehe), do it... :) i like it...i will continue to read it...and i will think about questions :)
don't change a good thing... :)

I read each and every post that you make. I may not always comment, but I do read. You are my "neighbor", so that of course is what drew me to your blog. That and your heart for Jesus. I enjoy everything you write, all of your photos, all of your wonderful spiritual sharing. Everything. You are already a huge inspiration and testament to the faith you and Marc have in the Lord. I certainly don't expect you to be crafty or anything like that. Just be you, the way you are.

I've used statcounter.com for many years on my sites. It's free. I make mine invisible on my blog and just check the stats in my account now and then. It gives you way more info/statistics about your site/blog than you could ever imagine. I found out I have over a hundred people reading my blog, but only a handful comment most of the time. LOL! Although I do get emails now and then from readers who don't normally comment.

Q: I agree with Andrea above, your salvation/testimony would be a wonderful post... and a way for you to witness.

Q: When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
